7 Days of Books: Upcycling
The last seven days, I’ve gone back in time and talked about each book and dished a little bit about the production, drama and shoots that went into each book. I hope you’ve enjoyed these blog posts and I hope you commented on each one for a chance to win a copy of each book! (one book will go to one person, all randomly selected by a random number generator… how legal sounding of me!).
Today’s final post is about my latest book we just wrapped coming out next year called Upcycling. This book is based on my regular segments on NBC’s The Today Show where I show Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford how to take everyday items and transform them into something new. If you’ve caught these segments, you know I have a tough audience with these two women, but I think you should also know this: it’s all in good fun.
I’m particularly excited for Upcycling because it’s a book that I’ve pored all of my years of producing photo shoots, writing books, blogging here at Daily Danny, and doing countless TV segments all into one, giant book. And the key thing for me when writing Upcycling was this: ALL new projects, never before seen, never before demonstrated, totally exclusive with the publication of the book.
I’ve leaked a few pics here and there on this blog and even shared one disastrous project involving Patagaonia rain jackets with you that—I am here to finally say—will not end up in the book. But I thought, what’s the harm in sharing ONE MORE project with you? After all, there are 150+ pics—all full color—in the book….
Yep, a tennis ball swing. We upcycled all of those tennis balls the local club was going to toss out into one of the most comfortable, cool-looking, beyond easy to make swings ever.
Each project will be 3 steps or less, use everyday things we hate to throw away and upcycle them into something—to be blunt—rad.
This swing is in my backyard right now and represents everything this book is going to be. Can. Not Wait.
