My New Website

We’ve been quietly redesigning my company/personal website dannyseo.com for several months now and I’m proud to announce it’s been launched!    While many of you visit me daily here at Daily Danny, I’d love to have you come on over and visit dannyseo.com from time to time.

As you can see, I took your comments to heart when it came to choosing a background!   We went darker with a more abstract pattern and our designer—Lesley Marker—read all of them and came up with what I think is a real  winner.

On our TV page, we’ll be posting many more video clips, how-to tutorial videos and even sneak peeks at things like my reality show, behind the scenes footage and much more.   For now, we have a few of my best-of clips from TV shows, but over the next few weeks, about 50 more videos will be uploaded for easy viewing.

Our press page has all of our media clippings, news releases, and some links to online stories that might interest you.  We also keep a live twitter feed on the right hand side (you can also follow me @dannyjseo!).

The Products has easy links and background information on my product lines and retail partners.  Here you’ll find information on the Simply Green program at JCPenney, my Wholearth Beauty and Bath Line (coming to ShopNBC soon!), the Simmons Natural Care by Danny Seo bedding line and my partnership with Method Home.

And here’s a new feature: “Where’s Danny?”    Lots of fun events all over the country I’m either attending or helping with.  Right now, its just one event in Little Rock at the Ashley Furniture Store.   But over the coming weeks, plenty of great events and updates will be on the site.

Once I finish my “training” with our website designer, I’ll be able to personally update the site on an immediate basis.    So, bookmark dannyseo.com and keep coming back here at Daily Danny.     Two sites!   Will I be able to keep ‘em up.   Somehow, I think so.

New Blog Love: The Violet Hours

My pal Amanda Kingloff is someone I’ve known for a while now and have had the privilege of working with on a recent Parents Magazine eco-birthday party story for the magazine.    I was going through my digital camera and lo and behold, here’s Kingloff now wearing a tiara of flowers from our shoot in the Redwood forests of California.   And cue to my cell phone ringing ”PARENTS MAGAZINE”  in 3…2…1….  I think she looks adorable, so it stays up here as my lead pick on this blog post.

As a magazine editor and former stylist (although in my world, you never really do leave BEING a stylist, you always end up styling everything yourself anyway) Amanda’s new blog has a mix of personal project posts and—my favorite–best of ideas for different themes.

First, for her personal projects, I thought this placemarker idea was a lovely one.   She made these for her wedding and it’s nothing more than air dry clay, some stamps and paint to make them bright and white.    Love it.

Or using an old book from The Strand as a guest sign-in log, instead of a fancy journal.   Love the casual feel of this (and I think the use of stray buttons to hold pens into place is so much fun, too).

And then there is the fun stuff she finds on the web.   Paint chip potraits?   Just pixalate a potrait and match all the little squares to paint chips.  It’s like an OCD version of paint-by-numbers….

And this really great idea I somehow missed from the Good Housekeeping website: a tie wreath.   Ugly ties just wrapped around a wreath frame to make a fun and colorful wreath.  Easy and so effective.

Isaac

1.   Watch the first of several online episodes of "Watch Isaac."     See as I show Isaac a cute JCPenney t-shirt as he guesses what eco fabrics it's made from.

2.  Bid on a Simmons Natural Care by Danny Seo mattress to benefit Bette Midler's charity, The New York Restoration Project.    Head on over to CharityBuzz to bid online!

3.  See an actual office detox online.  I raided the offices of Sprig.com and showed them how to detox, declutter and "green" their work space.   It's a fun piece!

4.  Pick up some eco & cheap bed pillows for just $12.95!  Filled with poly from old water bottles!  I just ordered a bunch for my new house.

5.  Read about a little crafting party I hosted in New York City at the Method pop-up shop in Soho.  One lucky hostess got a bottle of newspaper wrapped champagne from me.   It looks less curly somehow in her photo!
