Magazine Wrapped Gifts

Magazinewrapped

A few blog posts back, I talked about taking a sheet in a magazine—-like a fancy fashion advertisement—and recycling it into curly magazine ribbons as gift toppers on presents.

I thought..why not recycle the magazine itself and wrap gifts with it?

Here are a few presents wrapped with full pages from glossy magazines and a few gifts wrapped with other found objects around the house: maps, brochures, color copy pages and even an oversized instructional manual. I’ve used blueprint paper in the past, which I found in a giant paper recycling center, but I’ve used it all up.     So, until I score another roll of blueprint paper, this might have to do this for this upcoming holiday season.

When matched with a nice ribbon (all cut extra long so the recipient can reuse the ribbon easily on other gifts), it all looks kinda nice!

Hey that’s a neat idea! When I was a kid my Mom would always wrap birthday gifts in the funny pages from the news paper. I like yours, especially the glossy look of the magazine wrapped prezzies. A couple of weeks ago for the Blog Action day about the environment I was inspired to do a post about wrapping paper as well..well actually it was reusing old tortilla chip bags as gift wrap! haha. It worked and looked pretty cool if I do say so myself, decked out with sour cream container flowers. ummm..guess what our favorite snack in our house is. I love your blog, always looking forward to the next post!

i have wrapped a few small presents in one page from a magazine and any larger presents in 2 or 3 pages just taped together. they always come out looking fantastic and the lucky receiver is always commenting on how great the package is wrapped.
i have to try the bow trick. it would be nice to have it all tied together.
thanks danny for all of your inspiration!!!!

    Dear Danny
wunderful idea! I use old newspapers sometimes, but like your idea too! Can you help out: need 450 pieces of your 2008 Calender Do Just One Thing before Nov. 6 in the Netherlands… best regards, Carla

I like your ideas and something that I have done for over 7 years is whenever we travel to Europe we also get these free travelers maps. I have used them to wrap presents and everyone loves them.
Keep up the great work, I love your blog!
    Kind regards, Posh Mama

My Grandad would always wrap our presents in the funny papers. This brings back a nostalgic feeling. I think, I will try it this year. Thank you for the idea!
